I just have to say first that I love your magazine. It has been one of the best sources of information on music production I have ever come across. I am a composer and producer of music for film, media, and I do a bit of dance music production as well. Your mag has been an incredible help to me for many years now, especially in regards to the "in the studio" sections. To be able to sit through step-by-step track building with so many different incredible producers like Matti Schwartz, Tommy D, Funkagenda, etc...has really been something to look forward to every month.
That said, this particular issue with Simian Mobile Disco was a real let down. Can anyone on the planet really tell me they gained any sort of benefit from watching a guy twiddle around with an enormous synth that we don't/never will have? I have nothing against SMD's music, it's fantastic. The interview and studio shots were lovely, but the video really made my heart sink. I spend a lot of money a year on your magazine, and I feel that much of my justification for the cost is based around the very real benefit I get from learning from such amazing producers. I feel that I make better music and more money as a producer directly through the information gleaned from these tutorials, so thank you...but please, keep up the tutorial type videos, and you will keep a lot of loyal subscribers, including me, for life. Thanks guys, sorry for the rant...
